PAJU, South Korea - North Korea warned early Thursday that its military has been cleared to attack the U.S. using "smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear" weapons, while the U.S. said it was strengthening protection in the region and seeking to defuse the situation.
Military.com goes on to report analyst's belief that North Korea won't actually make good on these threats since, "the move could trigger a destructive, suicidal war that no one in the region wants."

CONSERVABLOGGER COMMENT:
I've been getting a bad feeling that something REALLY bad is about to happen. I hope this isn't it. Given our current commander-in-chief, I can't imagine coming out of this crisis undamaged.
That said, it is my guess that the Obama administration will use this crisis to the fullest possible extent. I personally think Obama would like the situation to get a little worse.
